STATEMENT OF FAITH

We confess to be a family of believers in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

THE BIBLE

The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, God's infallible written Word.

We believe the Bible to be the unique and fully inspired Word of God. It is the complete message that God has given to us. It is infallible, without error, and will never be destroyed. It is the final and only authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21, Mark 13:31, Isaiah 40:8)

Being the word of God, the Bible is also "the word of truth." It is not the work of men who were setting forth their own theories as to the meaning of life and existence. It is not the work of philosophers merely speculating on what they think everything means. Instead, it is the communication from the one true God, who created all things, who knows the truth, is "only wise," and is working out His own plan and purpose in His creation. (II Timothy 2:15)

The Bible, composed of its 66 books, is complete. There are no ‘lost books of the Bible,’ nor do there exist any other writings which ought to be considered scripture or included in the Bible. (Although they may be of some historical interest, the books of the Apocrypha are not the word of God.)

Although a multitude of English Bible translations exist at the present time, only the King James 1611 Authorized Version is translated from the received text. The King James 1611 Authorized Version is identified as the inerrant, infallible, preserved word of God in the English language. Other versions and paraphrases that change the words of the King James 1611 Authorized Version dilute and undermine the authority of God's Holy Word. (Deuteronomy 4:2 & 12:32, Proverbs 30:6, Revelation 22:18-19)

We believe that only those foreign translations made from the King James 1611 Authorized Version or from the Textus Receptus Greek Text shall be considered reliable. All others should be used with caution and compared with the King James Version. (Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32; Proverbs 30:6; Jeremiah 8:8,9; Revelation 22:19)

CREATION

We believe in the literal translation of Genesis 1 and 2, that there were 6 literal days of creation and a seventh day where God rested.

GOD

We believe there is one sovereign God who is omniscient (all knowing), omnipresent (is ever present everywhere), and omnipotent (all powerful). (Deuteronomy 4:39, Psalm 139:8, Proverbs 15:3, Jeremiah 23:24)

We believe in the Trinity, that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are three persons yet equal in divine perfection each carrying on a distinct work in which all are in complete agreement. (1 John 5:3, Luke 3:21-22)

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God, and is therefore God Himself.

We believe that Jesus Christ became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Hence, He is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever.

We believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone.

We believe that Jesus Christ, after 3 days in the grave, rose from the dead victorious over sin and death. He ascended bodily into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own.

SIN

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God and given rule over all the earth. (Genesis 1:27-28)

We Believe mankind forfeited everything when he chose to disobey God (in the Garden of Eden) in spite of warnings regarding the consequences for doing so. As a result sorrow, tears, pain, sickness, death, and all that is “not good” came into existence. This was never God’s intention (and therefore not His fault). All of the people who lived since were born in sin and under condemnation and will never be able to enter God's presence in this condition. All men are sinners by nature and are unable to save themselves from the debt and penalty of their sins by anything they can do. The penalty for sin is death. (Genesis 2:16-17, Romans 1:18-3:20, 3:23, 5:12, 6:23)

SALVATION

God showed His love for all people by sending His Son to die for our sins so that we might have eternal life with God in heaven. (John 3:16,17, John 4:9-10; Romans 3:24-25, Romans 5:8, Revelation 4:8.)

Only through accepting Jesus as Savior and by making Him Lord of your life can you spend eternity with God in heaven. Those who reject or ignore Jesus Christ will suffer God’s wrath for their sins and will suffer eternally in Hell. (Genesis 1:26,27; Matthew 25:31-46; Romans 3:23 and 6:23; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10; Revelation 20:11-15 and 22:3-5.)

Salvation is by the grace of God through faith on the basis of the atoning sacrifice of Christ, and man can do nothing to earn or deserve salvation. It is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. (Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9)

REGENERATION

We believe that the true Christian will depart from iniquity, walk in newness of life, walk in the Spirit, and seek to follow the teachings of God through the Holy Bible. (Romans 6:11-13)

ETERNAL SECURITY

Eternally secure salvation is the possession of all who trust the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. We believe a man is secured in his salvation eternally and unconditionally at the moment he believes. This condition is secured by the numerous irreversible works of God and the Holy Spirit. (Romans 5:1-21)

THE RAPTURE

We believe in a pre-millenial, pre-tribulational rapture of the Church, when the Lord Jesus Christ who is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven, will return and call all believers home to Him. The dead in Christ will rise first and then those of us who are alive, will be caught up together in the clouds, and will meet the Lord in the air. We believe this coming will be visible to all, and with the shout of the archangel, and that he will be in bodily form. (Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Revelation 1:7)

BAPTISM AND COMMUNION

We believe that believers should be baptized by full immersion in water after being saved. Such believer’s baptism is an ordinance done in obedience to God, but is not a means of salvation. We also believe that believers should regularly participate in the Lord's Supper or Communion. We believe in open communion, meaning you do NOT have to be a church member to participate, only that you have placed your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. This is a memorial and is not a means of salvation.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

In accordance with Paul's teaching in I Corinthians 12-14, the temporary need for spiritual gifts that existed at the beginning of this dispensation has been superceded by the completion of the written word of God. The "perfect" written word of God now having come, spiritual gifts have been "done away."
